I have always found the process of capturing what
I see before my eyes a some what challenging experience. No matter
how well I understand how my camera works there is always that
unexplained factor that will make things go wrong. The most obvious
is equipment failure. As always, the more important the event the
greater the chance that destiny will decide that something will go
wrong. Then there is always being in the right frame of mind or
temperament. No matter how hard I try if
my mood is wrong then it will end up showing in the end result, the
photographs.
Perhaps on of the biggest unknowns is the
weather or should I say climate. There are times when for me it is a
matter of being in the right place at the right time to get the
photos I want but the climate conspires to make it more of a
challenge. Having to wait around in the freezing cold or the
scorching heat for hours just so that the light is right or subjects
are in the right position is enough to make my head explode.
However, understanding the environment is rather key to getting the
envisioned result.
What the Travel Chronicles hope to give is an
alternative look at the processes leading up to, during and after
taking the photos. |
