Nikon announces the D300s D-SLR
Nikon introduces the D300s Digital SLR camera that is essentially an update of the D300 DSLR. It has the same 12MP sensor but can continuously shoot at 7fps. The major new feature of the camera is the provision of HD video recording with stereo sound. A dual card slots are provided for added flexibility. Other features include:

  • EXPEED image processing engine with 14bit A/D conversion
  • 51 point AF system
  • VGA LCD monitor
  • ISO range from 200-3200 (expandable)

Nikon announces the D3000 D-SLR
Nikon introduces the entry level D3000 DX DSLR camera that has a 10MP sensor and a 3fps continuous shooting. The D3000's AF array is based on the 11 point AF array as used in the D5000 and D90 DSLR. Its large 3" LCD monitor has 230,000 dots to make viewing status information and captured images a pleasure. A dust reduction system is provided to keep the cameras image sensor clean.

Nikon announces the 70-200mm VR II f/2.8 ED Nikkor Lens
Nikon introduces the 70-200mm VR II AF-S ED f/2.8 zoom lens. It is an updated of the previous 70-200mm VR lens but redesigned to ensure it suits FX DSLRs as well as the DX DSLRs. The VR system will let you shoot with a shutter speed up to 4 stops slower. Ghosting and flare are minimised by the Nano Crystal lens coating.

Nikon announces the 18-200mm VR II DX Nikkor Lens
Nikon introduces the 18-200mm VR II AF-S ED DX f/3.5-5.6G zoom lens. This essentially a revising of the older 18-200mm VR DX lens that has been very. The new lens has a re-designed zoom mechanism to combat 'zoom creep' and is also provided with a zoom lock switch to ensure the lens stays zoomed in when in transit. An improved lens coating is provided to reduce flare and ghosting.

Panasonic announces the Lumix DMC-FZ38 Super Zoom Camera
Panasonic introduces the Lumix DMC-FZ38 super zoom digital camera that features a powerful 18x, 27-486mm (35mm equiv.) zoom lens. Two ED lens elements are provided to minimise chromatic aberration. Images are captured on the 12 megapixel imaging sensor. The DMC-FZ38 can record HD movies in AVCHDLite format. Images are kept steady by the new Power O.I.S image stabilisation technology. Panasonic announces the Lumix DMC-FP8 Digital Compact
Panasonic introduces the Lumix DMC-FP8 using folded optics to produce a 28-128mm (35mm equiv.) zoom lens in a compact body. The DMC-FP8 has a 12 megapixel imaging sensor, and the new Power O.I.S image stabilisation. Also featured is Panasonics intelligent auto (iA) mode, as well as Face Detection and Face Recognition. Panasonic announces the Lumix DMC-FX60 Digital Compact
Panasonic introduces the Lumix DMC-FX60 digital compact camera featuring a 5x, f/2.8 optical zoom (25-125mm 35mm equiv.) backed by a 12 megapixel imaging sensor. Panasonic announces the Lumix DMC-ZX1 Digital Compact
Panasonic introduces the Lumix DMC-ZX1 digital compact camera featuring a powerful 25-200mm (35mm equiv.) lens backed by a 12 megapixel imaging sensor. Canon announces largest ever UK showcase of its professional imaging products
United Kingdom / Republic of Ireland, 27th July 2009: Canon today announced that it will host a two day showcase of its professional photo, video and printing products on the 27th and 28th October 2009 at the Business Design Centre, Islington, London. Wednesday, 15 July 2009 - Worldwide Photography Event by NAPP
15th July 2009, London: This Saturday, NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Pros) –co-sponsored by Adobe - has organised a worldwide event – over 900 photo walks (33 across UK and Ireland), an expected 17,000 photographers will attend with over 1 million photos taken all on the same day.

What: Photo Walk -  social event, photographers walk the streets, shoot photos, interact with other photographers.
NAPP –co-sponsor Adobe- is hosting its second-annual day.
Post-walks, photographers will process photos in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and post to NAPP site for a chance to win a grand prize.
Last year, more than 1,017,125 photos were taken on walks that day.
