Premium printing for serious photographers: PIXMA
MG6250 and PIXMA MG8250
Canon has today announced the launch of two
new Premium All-In-One printers, ideal for passionate photographers. With a
range of advanced features, the PIXMA MG6250 and PIXMA MG8250 offer photolab-quality
printing at impressive speeds, along with a range of innovative software, to
help get the best out of photos.
With sleek designs and enhanced connectivity,
including access to the new PIXMA Cloud Link and printing enabled from
mobile devices, the new printers are intelligent and easy-to-use, while
still achieving the necessary image quality. The flagship of the new range,
the PIXMA MG8250, also incorporates a stylish EOS-inspired design with a
matte black finish.
Easy operation
The PIXMA MG6250 and PIXMA MG8250 are operated via Canon’s unique
Intelligent Touch System providing easy-to-follow operation with a light
guided touch panel. The interface lights up to assist navigation and shows
the user which functions are currently available. The inclusion of Quick
Operation on both models means a large selection of features can be accessed
quickly and easily. Users of the PIXMA MG8250 can also make use of a 35mm
film scanner which is integrated into the top cover of the model, easily
producing professional quality prints straight from 35mm negatives and
mounted slides, at up to 4800 x 9600 dpi.
Effortlessly beautiful prints
To deliver premium quality, the new models feature Canon’s FINE print head
with minimum 1pl droplet and up to 9600dpi print resolution. A 6-ink system
in both the PIXMA MG6250 and PIXMA MG8250 includes a Pigment Black and
individual Dye Black, Magenta, Cyan, Yellow and Grey ink tanks which produce
grain free, smooth colour photos. The additional grey ink also ensures
professional quality monochrome prints and the models can produce a 10x15cm
borderless photo in approximately 20 seconds.
Enhanced connectivity
The PIXMA MG6250 and PIXMA MG8250 bring advanced connectivity, allowing
access to internet content directly from the printer. The PIXMA Cloud Link
means users can print photos directly from their online albums using CANON
iMAGE GATEWAY (where available and Google’s Picasa. The printers also give
direct access to a wide range of printable templates, such as stationary and
calendars, so photographers can get creative with their images.
Users can also print on the go from their mobile
device using Google Cloud Print2 (Service available from end of November
2011 (TBC)) and the new Canon Easy-PhotoPrint App (for iOS and Android
devices) allows photo printing and scanning directly to the mobile device.
Sophisticated software and technologies
To enable photographers to do more with their images, an innovative range of
software and technologies have been added to the PIXMA MG6250 and PIXMA
MG8250, including Full HD Movie Print and Easy-PhotoPrint EX – which have
now been updated to allow even more creativity.
Full HD Movie Print means treasured moments can be
captured and printed as stills from full HD video footage captured on
Canon’s range of Digital SLRs or Canon Digital Still Cameras. Creative
effects can now be applied to these images, including Merge Frames, where
multiple frames can be combined to give a sense of motion to the printed
photos. Layout Print also lets users select a small movie clip and use a
comic-strip effect to print a storyboard, making a great birthday or
Christmas gift.
Easy-PhotoPrint EX software lets users unleash their
creative side on their favourite images by offering templates, and creative
effects for printing photos, calendars and albums. It now also comes with
Fun Filter Effect, which allows users to select photos and apply fun and
artistic image effects, including Blur Background, Fish-eye, Soft Focus,
Miniature and Toy Camera.
The PIXMA MG6250 and PIXMA MG8250 also include Easy-PhotoPrint
Pro, plug-in software that works with Adobe Photoshop®, Photoshop Elements®,
Adobe Lightroom® and Canon Digital Photo Professional, for editing and
printing photos efficiently with all print settings shown on one screen.
Users of the PIXMA MG6250 and PIXMA MG8250 can access
CREATIVE PARK PREMIUM when using Canon genuine inks. This brings exclusive
photos and illustrations from internationally recognised photographers and
artists, which can be used to create greetings cards, calendars and other
types of paper crafts.
